Saudi Arabia's Humanitarian Aid Surpasses $134 Billion Across 172 Countries Since 1996

Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, the Supervisor General of KSrelief, shared insights with UK House of Lords members about Saudi Arabia's extensive aid contributions. Since 1996, the Kingdom has donated over $134 billion to 172 nations. This meeting highlighted KSrelief's role as a specialised entity initiated by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to deliver diverse humanitarian and relief efforts globally.

KSrelief has executed 3,400 projects across 107 countries, valued at approximately $8 billion. These initiatives span crucial sectors like food security, education, health, protection, nutrition, water and sanitation. The centre aims to meet global humanitarian needs through these comprehensive programs.

Saudi Arabia's Aid Exceeds $134 Billion Globally

The centre has also focused on supporting women and children worldwide. It has implemented 1,089 projects for women worth over $868 million and 1,029 projects for children exceeding $1 billion. These efforts have positively impacted more than 219 million children globally.

A unique initiative under KSrelief is the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program. Established in 1990, it assists conjoined and parasitic twins from around the world by covering all costs related to their separation surgeries and rehabilitation. The program has evaluated 149 cases from 27 countries and successfully performed 62 surgeries.

Saudi Arabia is also a leading host country for refugees, whom they refer to as "visitors." The Kingdom accommodates 1,095,029 individuals from Yemen, Syria, and Myanmar. These visitors are granted work rights and access to free healthcare and education in public schools.

Recognition of Humanitarian Efforts

Officials at the House of Lords commended Saudi Arabia's humanitarian contributions through KSrelief. They acknowledged its significant role in supporting global humanitarian actions and alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations worldwide.

The meeting underscored Saudi Arabia's commitment to global aid through KSrelief's diverse programs. By addressing various humanitarian needs across multiple sectors, the Kingdom continues to play a pivotal role in international relief efforts.
