Saudi Arabia plans to take part in the 2026 Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, with a clear focus on the digital economy and artificial intelligence. Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha said the participation highlights the Kingdom’s role in global technology discussions and links directly to the national transformation under Saudi Vision 2030.

Abdullah Alswaha explained that the Kingdom aims to use the Davos platform to present Saudi Arabia’s experience in shifting towards a smart era. The delegation intends to outline achievements in building a competitive economy driven by technology and artificial intelligence, while also seeking to expand cooperation and investment with leading global technology companies and private-sector decision-makers.

The minister stated that Saudi Arabia is working to reinforce its position as a central hub for digital innovation. This direction is guided by an ambitious national vision led by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and supported by strategic investments and an integrated ecosystem for artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

According to Abdullah Alswaha, the alignment between Saudi Vision 2030 and the orientations of the World Economic Forum shows strong harmony between national objectives and wider international priorities. This alignment, the minister noted, reflects a firm Saudi commitment to shaping the future global economy and to participating in international conversations on inclusive technological development.

Abdullah Alswaha stressed that participation in the 2026 Annual Meeting is enabled by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. Their support, the minister said, allows the Kingdom to put forward shared solutions and to strengthen global dialogue on technological innovation and sustainable growth.

The minister added that Saudi Arabia seeks to open new paths for partnerships and investments with international technology firms and private-sector leaders during the Davos meetings. These efforts, he said, are designed to advance a more inclusive and sustainable future based on innovation and artificial intelligence, with benefits extending to humanity as a whole.

By engaging at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2026, Saudi Arabia aims to underline its growing influence in digital policy and artificial intelligence. Abdullah Alswaha indicated that the Kingdom wants its experience, partnerships and long-term investment plans to support high-impact cooperation that encourages shared prosperity and a more sustainable digital future.
