New Foreign Investment System Bolsters Saudi-American Economic Relations

Susanne Lindman, Executive Director and Interim President and CEO of the Saudi-American Business Council (SABC), highlighted the new foreign investment system's role in enhancing economic ties between Saudi Arabia and the United States. In an interview with the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Lindman noted that this system fosters a transparent and straightforward investment environment, opening up new cooperation avenues for companies from both nations.

The system aims to boost investment opportunities while addressing challenges faced by both sides in various fields. Lindman emphasised that the SABC's strategies are designed to strengthen trade relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States. She pointed out that there is significant potential for increased cooperation, citing rising investments and expanding joint projects between public and private sectors.

Boost in Saudi-US Business Ties

Lindman mentioned that SABC is dedicated to facilitating these partnerships by offering strategic advice and connecting companies through trade missions and business forums. This approach helps deepen trade relations and assists Saudi and American companies in achieving their strategic business goals.

The SABC has organised over 60 business development missions and hosted more than 500 seminars and networking events. These efforts have successfully linked tens of thousands of companies, providing valuable market insights and advisory services to help businesses understand each country's commercial and cultural landscape.

Lindman stated, "The SABC acts as a bridge for communication and commercial cooperation." She added that business forums, trade missions, and conferences serve as ideal platforms for companies to meet potential partners and explore new business opportunities.

Technology and Innovation Investments

The CEO also discussed Saudi Arabia's commitment to gaining expertise in technology and innovation across various sectors, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, biotechnology, renewable energy sources, and petrochemical transformation. These areas represent significant investment opportunities for both countries.

Sports and tourism were highlighted as promising sectors for investment in Saudi Arabia. Lindman noted that American companies possess expertise in these fields, creating mutual benefits through cooperation and joint ventures.

Supporting Economic Relations

Lindman praised the new foreign investment system for supporting SABC's efforts to facilitate business operations. The system creates a more transparent environment for investors from both countries. The recent approval of this system by the Saudi Cabinet aligns with the "Kingdom 2030" vision, which is part of the National Investment Strategy.

The SABC continues to provide strategic advice, linking companies through various initiatives aimed at deepening trade relations. By organising numerous events, they have successfully facilitated connections between thousands of businesses. This ongoing effort supports mutual growth in economic relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States.
