Saudi Ambassador Lauds Makkah Route's Impact On Indonesian Pilgrims' Hajj Experience

The Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amoudi, highlighted the Makkah Route Initiative as a significant effort by the Government of Saudi Arabia. He noted that these efforts have been ongoing since the era of the late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud and continue under King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Ambassador Al-Amoudi remarked, "The Makkah Route Initiative has had positive feedback at all official and popular levels in Indonesia. We observed this during the pilgrims' departure from Jakarta Airport. This reflects the Kingdom's efforts and leadership in the Islamic world, as well as its commitment to serving pilgrims and taking care of the Two Holy Mosques and the holy sites."

Makkah Route Eases Hajj for Indonesians

The initiative aims to streamline entry procedures for Indonesian pilgrims before they leave their country. This year, it has been expanded to include Surabaya and Solo, in addition to Jakarta. This expansion benefits a large number of Indonesian pilgrims, according to Ambassador Al-Amoudi.

Ambassador Al-Amoudi expressed his appreciation to the Indonesian government, particularly the Ministry of Religious Affairs, for their cooperation and coordination. He acknowledged that their support has been instrumental in the success of the initiative.

The ambassador's comments underscore Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment to facilitating pilgrimages and enhancing services for pilgrims from around the world, including Indonesia.
