Saudi Aerospace Connect Forum Concludes With Key Strategic Deals And Industry Developments

The Saudi Aerospace Connect Forum wrapped up its activities on Tuesday, under the auspices of Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef. The event was attended by key figures, including Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and Eng. Khalil bin Salamah, Vice Minister for Industrial Affairs. This forum was a collaborative effort involving the National Industrial Development Center (NIDC), the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, GACA, and Saudia Group.

Taking place at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Jeddah on February 24 and 25, the forum marked a significant milestone with the signing of nine strategic memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with leading global aviation companies. These agreements underscore Saudi Arabia's dedication to enhancing its role in the international aviation sector. The forum also announced the launch of the Aviation Industries Cluster at Modon Oasis in Jeddah.

Saudi Aerospace Forum Ends with Strategic Announcements

This new cluster aims to localize advanced technologies and bolster supply chains within the aviation industry. Additionally, licenses for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities were issued during the event. These initiatives are designed to meet both domestic and international market needs effectively.

The forum featured numerous panel discussions that explored investment opportunities within Saudi Arabia's aviation sector. Key areas included advanced aircraft component manufacturing, composite materials for aircraft structures, unmanned aerial systems (UAS) development and production, as well as titanium and advanced materials manufacturing.

These opportunities are crucial for enhancing national security while creating high-quality jobs for Saudi citizens. They also play a vital role in reinforcing Saudi Arabia's economic position and align with its commitment to achieving the goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030.

The forum concluded with a reaffirmation of Saudi Arabia's commitment to fostering innovation within its aviation industry. The Kingdom aims to support new investment opportunities and build a sustainable aviation sector that ensures its leading position globally.
