AWQAF Dubai And CDA Launch SANED Initiative To Support Low-Income Families Through Jood Platform
The Endowments and Minors’ Trust Foundation in Dubai (AWQAF Dubai) has partnered with the Community Development Authority (CDA) to introduce the ‘SANED’ initiative. This project, launched through Dubai’s Community Contributions Platform, Jood, aims to create a sustainable charitable endowment. Its primary goal is to support low-income families by addressing their food needs.
The endowment features a residential building in Dubai South, comprising 40 apartments over five floors, including parking facilities. Valued at AED30 million, the project is expected to yield an 8 percent return. These earnings will fund AED1,000 SANED cards for families registered with the CDA to buy essential food items.

The ‘SANED’ initiative encourages participation from government bodies, private companies, businessmen, and philanthropists. Their contributions will help distribute SANED cards to eligible families, ensuring consistent food supply. The initiative seeks to foster community involvement in supporting those in need.
Hessa Buhumaid, Director General of the CDA, stated that the SANED initiative reflects societal values of cooperation and solidarity. "By establishing this charitable endowment, we seek to collectively work to meet the food needs of vulnerable groups," she said. These groups include orphans, widows, senior citizens, people of determination, and low-income citizens.
Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of AWQAF Dubai, commended the collaboration with CDA. He noted that this partnership enhances charitable and endowment efforts in Dubai. Al Mutawa expressed confidence in community support for the SANED endowment via contributions on the Jood platform.
"The initiative is designed to create a permanent investment to fund SANED cards to offer sustainable food support to those in need," Al Mutawa explained. He emphasized that this community project welcomes contributions from all sectors of society. It promotes social solidarity and humanitarian cooperation by allowing everyone to participate in aiding those in need.
Distribution and Impact
AWQAF Dubai's SANED card initiative enables beneficiaries to shop at participating outlets using these cards. To date, 3,000 SANED cards worth AED3 million have been distributed to assist families requiring support. This effort highlights the project's impact on improving lives by ensuring access to essential food supplies.
This collaborative effort between AWQAF Dubai and CDA exemplifies how community-driven initiatives can address pressing social issues effectively. By pooling resources and fostering partnerships across various sectors, they aim to improve living conditions for vulnerable groups while promoting a culture of giving and solidarity within society.
