Sanad Group And Pratt & Whitney Sign Agreement To Enhance Aircraft Engine MRO Services In The UAE

Sanad Group has entered a collaboration with Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for aircraft engines. This partnership underscores RTX's dedication to the Tawazun Economic Programme, managed by the Tawazun Council. The initiative aims to boost industrial capabilities in the aerospace sector, positioning it as a leader in industry advancements.

The announcement took place on the second day of IDEX 2025 at the Tawazun Council Chalet. Notable attendees included Martina Strong, US Ambassador to the UAE; Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General at Tawazun Council; Dr. Bakheet Al Katheeri from Mubadala's UAE Investments platform; Shareef Hashim Al Hashmi from Tawazun Council; Eric Wagner from Pratt & Whitney; Tom Laliberty and Bryan Barker from Raytheon; and Fahad Al Mheiri from Raytheon Emirates.

The agreement was signed by Mansoor Janahi of Sanad, Majed Saif Al Shamsi of Tawazun Council, Marc Meredith from Pratt & Whitney, and Chander Nijon from Raytheon. Majed Al Shamsi highlighted that this project is facilitated through the Tawazun Economic Programme and marks a significant milestone in the aerospace industry. It aims to enhance capabilities in aerospace logistics and supply chain management while supporting sustainable transformation and creating job opportunities for Emiratis.

Al Shamsi further emphasised that the aerospace sector is crucial for advancing the UAE towards a knowledge-based economy. With support from leadership, strengthening ties with industry leaders and accelerating technology localisation will elevate national capabilities to global standards.

Amer Siddiqui, Executive Director at Mubadala's UAE Investment Platform and Sanad's Chairman, stated that this agreement highlights their commitment to nurturing national companies that drive sustainable economic growth. He noted that Sanad's leadership in aviation positions them as catalysts for innovation in the industry.

Mansoor Janahi remarked that their new partnership with Pratt & Whitney elevates them into the top tier of global engine MRO providers. Collaborating with industry leaders enables them to deliver advanced engineering capabilities and create high-skilled jobs for Emiratis.

Expanding Global Network

Marc Meredith commented on the growing GTF engine fleet and aftermarket demand. He expressed commitment to expanding their global network with leading MRO providers like Sanad. As a long-time service provider for the V2500 engine, Sanad will continue delivering high-quality service expected by customers.

This collaboration between Sanad and Pratt & Whitney represents a significant step towards establishing Abu Dhabi as a global aerospace hub. By enhancing local capabilities and creating skilled jobs, it supports both economic growth and innovation within the aviation sector.
