Sanad And GAL Strengthen MRO Partnership With New AED 73.5 Million Agreement

Sanad, a leader in aerospace engineering and leasing solutions owned by Mubadala Investment Company, has expanded its partnership with Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL). This new AED 73.5 million agreement was announced at Air Expo Abu Dhabi, a major event for aviation industry leaders. Sanad will continue to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for the Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines powering the UAE Air Force's A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport fleet.

The collaboration between Sanad and GAL aims to improve engine maintenance efficiency, reduce downtime, and boost fleet reliability. By using advanced technologies and skilled personnel, they are committed to enhancing the UAE’s aviation capabilities. "Our partnership with GAL reflects a strong, shared commitment to elevating the UAE’s aviation capabilities," said Mansoor Janahi, Managing Director and Group CEO at Sanad.

This agreement marks a significant milestone in their collaboration, bringing the total value generated since 2021 to over AED 220 million. It highlights the successful partnership between two key players in Abu Dhabi's aerospace sector. Mahmood Alhay Alhameli, CEO at GAL, stated that this collaboration is crucial for maintaining the operational readiness of the UAE AFAD’s MRTT fleet.

Sanad is the only independent MRO centre globally authorised by Rolls-Royce to service Trent 700 engines. This unique capability positions Abu Dhabi as a hub for global engine maintenance. The agreement allows Sanad to receive engines from airlines worldwide, enhancing local expertise and reducing reliance on foreign facilities. This results in faster turnaround times and greater efficiency.

By keeping MRO services within the UAE, Sanad contributes to developing local aerospace support capabilities.
