Sanad And Embry-Riddle University To Nurture Next-Gen Aerospace Leaders
Sanad, a prominent leader in aerospace engineering and leasing solutions, owned by Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Investment Company PJSC, has announced a significant collaboration with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. This partnership marks the beginning of the second cohort of the Sanad Future Leaders Programme, aimed at fostering the next generation of national leaders in the aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sector. The initiative reflects Sanad’s ongoing commitment to talent development and builds on the success of its first programme in 2023, which saw five national employees graduate in partnership with a leading European business school.
This collaboration with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide will see eight talented individuals, two-thirds of whom are females from various departments such as Human Resources (HR), engineering, operations, and quality, undergo a leadership development programme. This one-year programme will be conducted both at Embry-Riddle’s campus in Florida, USA, and in Abu Dhabi. It covers critical areas such as project management, business communication, strategic development, and financial solutions. The aim is to equip participants with the skills needed to deliver exceptional services to global OEMs and airlines.
The announcement of the second cohort was attended by key stakeholders including Ismail Ali Abdulla, Head of UAE Clusters at Mubadala’s UAE Investments Platform; Mansoor Janahi, Managing Director and Group CEO of Sanad; Ebraheem Budebs, Group Head of Human Resources at Sanad; and Dr. Maneesh Sharma, Dean of the College of Business at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Mansoor Janahi highlighted the importance of this partnership in nurturing talent within Abu Dhabi's aerospace industry. He emphasized that this initiative is crucial for driving innovation and excellence in navigating the aviation sector's robust potential. Ebraheem Budebs also pointed out the significance of the programme for professional growth within Sanad’s workforce, focusing on managerial and leadership skills.
Dr. John Watret, Chancellor of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration. He noted that it underscores their commitment to supporting the future growth of aviation by preparing Sanad's top talent to lead in the dynamic global aviation sector.
The Sanad Future Leaders Programme was initially launched in August 2022 with an aim to develop Sanad's talent pool by covering essential leadership and management skills. The programme offers insights into effective communication, project management, financial acumen, and data-driven decision-making. This initiative not only aims to elevate the expertise of Sanad’s aviation MRO experts but also emphasizes innovation and exposure to global best practices.
