SAMINavantia Unveils HAZEM Lite Combat Management System For Enhanced Naval Warfare Capabilities
SAMINavantia, a collaboration between Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) and Navantia from Spain, has introduced the HAZEM Lite Combat Management System (CMS). This system is tailored for vessels engaged in low to medium warfare or those with limited space. HAZEM Lite can be installed on new ships or integrated into existing systems, offering a modern solution derived from the original HAZEM CMS.
The HAZEM Lite retains key features of its predecessor, ensuring it remains open, scalable, and customizable. It is designed specifically for smaller vessels while maintaining robust and effective performance. This innovation provides an interoperable solution that meets the demands of modern naval operations.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Qahtani, Chairman of SAMINavantia, stated: "The new HAZEM Lite system is the result of intensive development efforts by Saudi engineers, aimed at designing a simplified version of the advanced combat management solution previously used in the Sarawat-class vessels, by creating smaller platforms with different missions and capabilities."
HAZEM Lite marks a significant milestone as it is the first product developed within Saudi Arabia to enhance small vessel capabilities. This achievement aligns with SAMINavantia's goal to localise over 50% of military spending by 2030. It also supports Saudi Vision 2030 by fostering skilled technical workforce development in the Kingdom.
By introducing this advanced defense capability, SAMINavantia aims to address both current and future challenges. The initiative strengthens the national military industrial base and enhances readiness for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and Border Guard. These efforts align with strategic objectives under Saudi Vision 2030.
Dr. Al-Qahtani further emphasised that SAMINavantia's contributions are pivotal in providing world-class combat system solutions. The focus remains on supporting local and regional clients while actively participating in national defense advancements.
This development signifies a new era in defense technology for Saudi Arabia. By focusing on localisation and innovation, SAMINavantia plays a crucial role in advancing military capabilities within the region.
