SAMI Reaffirms Commitment To Defence Industries At Third Saudi International Maritime Forum

Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), under the patronage of Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, will be a strategic partner at the third Saudi International Maritime Forum. This event, organised by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, is scheduled in Dhahran from November 19 to 21. SAMI's participation underscores its dedication to enhancing Saudi Arabia's defense sector and supporting the localisation of defense spending.

The forum will feature over 55 national and international entities from more than 22 countries. It aims to bring together leaders from maritime, military, and technology sectors to discuss maritime security challenges and advancements. The theme "Maritime Security in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" highlights the importance of AI in modern maritime operations.

SAMI Participates in Saudi Maritime Forum

SAMI plans to showcase a range of innovative defense products and services that adhere to global standards. Among these is the HAZEM Combat Management System (CMS), a Saudi-made naval combat system designed for engaging various targets. This system enhances maritime security and protects strategic interests in the region.

SAMI will also present its Unmanned Maritime Systems, including Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs). These vehicles are remotely operated via a ground control unit developed with the Royal Saudi Naval Forces. Additionally, SAMI will highlight its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services aimed at improving combat systems' performance throughout their lifecycle.

The cybersecurity operations center by SAMI will be another focal point at the forum. This center is dedicated to monitoring and managing cybersecurity threats across network devices, servers, and IT data for facilities. It offers various innovative cybersecurity products and solutions to enhance security measures.

Advanced Electronics for Maritime Solutions

SAMI Advanced Electronics Company (SAMI-AEC) will introduce its Vessel Traffic Management Information System (VTMIS). This advanced system is already deployed in several local ports within the Kingdom. It facilitates seamless coordination of maritime traffic using sophisticated decision-support tools for enhanced situational awareness.

"VTMIS not only enhances the safety and efficiency of navigation, it also surpasses the capabilities of traditional coastal systems, setting new benchmarks for maritime operations," stated the release. The system sets new standards for maritime operations by improving navigation safety and efficiency beyond traditional coastal systems.

Commitment to Vision 2030

SAMI's achievements in equipping five Avante 2200 Corvette combat ships with the HAZEM system under the Alsarawat project demonstrate its advanced capabilities in the maritime sector. As a leading national defense partner, SAMI remains committed to Vision 2030's goal of localising half of Saudi Arabia's defense spending.

Through its partnership with the Saudi International Maritime Forum, SAMI showcases significant growth in Saudi Arabia's defense sector. The company drives innovation, empowers national talent, and strengthens Saudi Arabia's global standing while supporting Vision 2030 objectives.
