Salem Bin Abdulrahman Inaugurates Ethraa Career Fair To Boost Emiratisation In Finance Sector

Sheikh Dr. Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office, officially opened the Ethraa Career Fair at Expo Centre Sharjah on Thursday. This event, focusing on the financial and banking sectors, is organised by the Emirates Institute of Finance in collaboration with several key partners including the Department of Human Resources and the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates.

The fair's primary goal is to introduce Emirati citizens to potential job opportunities within the financial sector. It also aims to improve their understanding of labour market trends and boost Emiratisation rates in this crucial area of the national economy. Sheikh Dr. Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi explored the exhibition, gaining insights into employment and training opportunities available for Emiratis interested in finance, banking, insurance, and business management.

During his visit, Sheikh Dr. Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi was informed about various training programmes tailored to different specialisations and academic backgrounds. These initiatives are designed to support Emiratisation efforts by equipping Emiratis with modern skills needed in today's job market. The fair highlights initiatives aimed at increasing national talent employment in banking and insurance sectors.

More than 100 prominent banks and financial institutions from across the UAE are participating in the fair. They are offering over 700 job opportunities for Emirati professionals in critical and advanced fields. This exhibition is part of the Ethraa Initiative, which aims to create more than 10,000 job opportunities for Emiratis by 2027.

The opening ceremony was attended by several notable figures including Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Human Resources; Marwan Al Muhairi, General Manager of the Emirates Institute of Finance; Waleed Bukhatir, Second Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Majid Hamad Al Marri, Director of the Department of Human Resources; along with other senior officials.

The Ethraa Initiative seeks to enhance national talent participation in shaping future developments within financial sectors—key components of sustainable development. At the end of the opening ceremony, Sheikh Dr. Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi received a commemorative gift as a token of appreciation for his presence at this significant event.
