Saif Bin Zayed And North Macedonia's Interior Minister Discuss Enhancing Security Cooperation
H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, recently met with Panche Toshkovski, the Minister of Interior of North Macedonia. Their discussions focused on enhancing security cooperation between the UAE and North Macedonia, aligning with both nations' leadership visions.
The meeting highlighted the importance of international collaboration in community security and crime prevention. An MoU was signed to enhance cooperation in security, counterterrorism, and combating cross-border crimes. This agreement aims to strengthen the already strong relations between the two countries.
Another significant agreement involved the mutual recognition and exchange of driving licences between the UAE and North Macedonia. This arrangement allows licence holders to exchange their licences without undergoing theoretical or practical tests, facilitating easier mobility during visits or stays.
The meeting was attended by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director of the Special Tasks Sector at Abu Dhabi Police. Several officers from the Ministry of Interior were also present.
Representatives from North Macedonia included Abdulkader Mohamedi, Ambassador to the UAE; Risto Stavrevsky, State Adviser and Chief of Staff to the Minister of Interior; Vladimir Velkovsky, State Adviser in the Minister’s Office; Gorancho Savovsky, State Adviser in the Minister’s Office; along with other officials.
These agreements mark a step forward in achieving shared goals for enhanced security cooperation between the UAE and North Macedonia. The collaboration reflects a commitment to strengthening ties and addressing common challenges effectively through joint efforts.
