Saif Bin Zayed Chairs UAE Anti-Drug Council Meeting To Review National Strategy Progress
H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, led a meeting of the UAE Anti-Drug Council. Representatives from various ministries and agencies involved in drug prevention attended. The session focused on reviewing recent developments in anti-drug initiatives and evaluating the results from the first quarter of 2025 under the National Anti-Drug Strategy.
The Council adopted "A Conscious Family… A Safe Society" as the theme for International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, observed globally on June 26. This theme highlights the crucial role families play in protecting children and future generations from drugs. The Council stressed that family involvement is essential for a safe society.
Efforts to combat drugs require unified actions and collaboration with relevant authorities. This approach aligns with leadership directives prioritising individual safety and addressing cross-border challenges to maintain societal values. The Council emphasised that preserving society's fabric is key to ensuring a secure future.
The Council called on all community members to actively engage in drug prevention efforts by reporting any helpful information. It highlighted that a collective national effort is vital for protecting the country and its citizens from drug-related threats. Community participation strengthens national security against this issue.
