Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Highlights Education's Role At The Education Interface Exhibition And Conference
H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, attended the 11th Education Interface Exhibition and Conference. The event, themed "Education and Community," aligns with the leadership's vision to mark 2025 as the Year of Community. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, inaugurated the exhibition earlier today.
The exhibition is taking place at Marina Hall within the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) over two days. It features participation from over 500 local, regional, and international entities, universities, and academic institutions. This platform allows educational bodies to showcase their academic offerings, scholarship opportunities, and related services through both on-site and virtual means.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan delivered a keynote speech titled: "Education and Community: Fundamental Pillars for Building Peace and Establishing Tolerance." He stated, "I am pleased to be with you today at this conference, organised by the Education Interface Foundation and sponsored by Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior."
He emphasised that education is crucial for addressing economic challenges, societal transformations, environmental issues, climate change, energy futures, and the growing role of science and technology. He noted that UAE’s focus on education is a continuation of achievements initiated by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Sheikh Nahyan highlighted the importance of global interconnectedness in education. "We must remember that educational issues are now globally interconnected," he said. "It is essential to remain open to successful experiences and best practices from around the world." This openness ensures that educational institutions meet world-class standards.
The event also featured discussions on how education can promote tolerance, coexistence, and human fraternity. Sheikh Nahyan added that successful education reflects societal values while preserving identity. He expressed hope that these discussions would highlight education's role in promoting these values.
Community Partnerships in Education
The Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence has joint initiatives with schools, colleges, and universities aimed at expanding community partnerships in education. Sheikh Nahyan stated that such partnerships are vital for instilling a spirit of achievement among partners: "Community partnerships in the field of education are effective tools for making the most of available potential to achieve the good of society and humanity."
The opening ceremony was attended by several dignitaries including Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education; Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar; Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili; Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid; Sarah Awad Issa Musallam; Abdul Hamid Mohammed Saeed; Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili; along with other officials.
H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed toured the exhibition grounds where he learned about developments showcased by participating educational institutions. These included advanced curricula and training initiatives designed to enhance youth capabilities.
This conference serves as an opportunity to emphasise each sector's role in shaping UAE’s education system. It aims to establish clear expectations for participants in the educational process while adhering to global standards.
