SAFF Showcases Saudi Arabia's Ambitious Bid To Host FIFA World Cup 2034 At AFC Conference In Seoul
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) recently highlighted Saudi Arabia's ambition to host the FIFA World Cup 2034™. This announcement took place during the AFC Member Associations and Regional Associations Presidents' and General Secretaries' Conference 2024 in Seoul, Korea. The event coincided with the AFC Awards ceremony for 2023.
SAFF President Yasser Al Misehal stated that over 170 federations have shown unprecedented support for Saudi Arabia's bid. He emphasised that this backing reflects the international community's confidence in the Kingdom. "Fans of Saudi and Asian football are eagerly anticipating December 11, when FIFA will convene an extraordinary general assembly to announce the host country for the 2030 and 2034 World Cups," Al Misehal said, asserting that hosting the World Cup is a dream come true for people who have consistently demonstrated a strong passion for football.

During the conference, SAFF Secretary General Ibrahim Al-Qasim delivered a presentation to a distinguished group of football pioneers and experts worldwide. He showcased Saudi Arabia's readiness to host the global event independently under its new format. This presentation aimed to demonstrate the Kingdom's capabilities and infrastructure to successfully organise such a prestigious tournament.
The conference commenced on Wednesday, attended by notable figures including FIFA President Gianni Infantino and AFC President Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa. Also present were presidents and secretaries general from various national and regional federations. The theme of the conference was "Building and Leading Great Organisations," highlighting leadership in sports administration.
