Rural Health Conference Hafr Al-Batin 2026 Launched By Prince Abdulrahman Bin Abdullah
Governor of Hafr Al-Batin Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdullah bin Faisal sponsored the launch of the 3rd Hafr Al-Batin International Rural Health Conference 2026, organised by the Hafr Al-Batin Health Cluster, with health leaders, experts, and specialists from Saudi Arabia and abroad attending the opening sessions.
The conference addressed challenges and opportunities in rural health through specialised dialogue panels. The first session examined "Diagnosing the Current State of Rural Health," followed by discussions on "Strategic Visions from Global and Regional Experiences" and "Practical Lessons Learned from Real-World Rural Health Practices."

A workshop titled "The Role of Organizations and Institutions in Supporting Rural Health" focused on how institutional partnerships can maintain and improve healthcare services in remote locations. During the Hafr Al-Batin International Rural Health Conference 2026, three formal cooperation agreements were signed to reinforce the health system in Hafr Al-Batin and surrounding rural communities.
The first cooperation agreement at the Hafr Al-Batin International Rural Health Conference 2026 was concluded with the Public Health Authority (Weqaya). It concentrated on integrated preventive programmes, public awareness, and efforts to reduce non-communicable diseases. The second agreement, with the Rural WONCA Institute of Learning, targeted training, capacity building, and improving healthcare professionals’ competencies across rural health facilities.
| Agreement partner | Main focus |
|---|---|
| Public Health Authority (Weqaya) | Preventive programmes, awareness, non-communicable diseases |
| Rural WONCA Institute of Learning | Training, capacity building, professional competencies |
| National Council for Occupational Safety and Health | Occupational safety, healthy work environments |
The third agreement at the Hafr Al-Batin International Rural Health Conference 2026 involved the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health. It aimed to expand cooperation in occupational safety and health and to encourage safe, healthy work environments within health facilities that serve rural health communities in the governorate.
The two-day Hafr Al-Batin International Rural Health Conference 2026 programme included scientific sessions and specialised workshops that presented global best practices in rural healthcare development. The agenda sought to strengthen institutional integration and support plans to position Hafr Al-Batin as a leading national centre for rural health in line with the Health Sector Transformation Program and Saudi Vision 2030.
Participants at the Hafr Al-Batin International Rural Health Conference 2026 reviewed international experiences, local needs, and cooperation mechanisms for rural health. The conference outcomes are expected to guide future initiatives that improve preventive services, professional training, and workplace safety standards in Hafr Al-Batin and other Saudi rural areas.
