RTA Reduces Vehicle Licensing Services By 74% To Enhance Customer Experience In Dubai
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has significantly streamlined its vehicle licensing services. The number of services has been reduced from 54 to just 14, marking a 74% decrease. This initiative is part of a broader effort to provide a seamless digital experience that enhances customer satisfaction. It aligns with Dubai's goal to offer public services that meet expectations and improve the quality of life in the emirate.
The RTA's new approach is part of the '360 Comprehensive Services' plan. This vision focuses on key areas to support Dubai’s strategic goals by delivering proactive and personalised services. The initiative also integrates with the 'Dubai Now' app, improving operational efficiency and ensuring better coordination with other government platforms.

Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of the Licensing Agency at RTA, emphasised the importance of this integration. He stated, "The RTA remains committed to realising its vision and mission of establishing Dubai as a global leader in smart road and transport systems, and a benchmark for seamless, sustainable, and innovative mobility. This also aligns with efforts to elevate Dubai’s standing in government service excellence and advance its ambition to become the world’s most digitally advanced city."
The integration simplifies vehicle licensing procedures by reducing steps and physical visits needed. This reengineering shortens processing times, reflecting a commitment to raising service standards for both individuals and businesses. The strategy aims to advance smart systems by delivering enhanced services while improving operational efficiency.
The initiative leverages advanced technologies and data integration with local and federal entities. It aims to enhance licensing services by reducing procedural steps. A key feature is the introduction of electronic signature functionality through the UAE Pass digital identity, providing access to all RTA services via a unified platform for vehicle owners, drivers, and public transport users.
Among the streamlined services is the Request for Vehicle Registration Certificate. Previously requiring 13 separate requests, it now involves just one transaction. Additionally, several service titles have been updated, and six export-related services have been merged into one under 'Vehicle Registration Cancellation'.
This consolidation represents a positive advancement in simplifying customer journeys while aligning with international benchmarks. It supports Dubai's ambition to become a leader in smart mobility solutions by enhancing service delivery sustainability.
