RTA Introduces Promising Engineer – Fast Track Programme To Empower Emirati Graduates

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced the "Promising Engineer – Fast Track" programme. This initiative is designed to enhance the skills of Emirati engineering graduates by boosting their technical and professional abilities. The programme aligns with RTA’s strategic goals, focusing on future readiness and improving corporate reputation.

The programme supports the UAE's national strategy and Dubai's vision by promoting Emiratisation. It aims to train and qualify national talent, enhancing their technical capabilities for long-term career stability. This initiative is crucial for developing specialised skills among Emiratis.

RTA Launches Fast Track Programme for Engineers

The "Promising Engineer" programme has specific eligibility criteria. Applicants must be UAE nationals with a university degree or equivalent in engineering from a recognised institution. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 in their latest academic transcript is required. Additionally, candidates should have graduated within the last two years and pass personal interviews.

Athari Mohamed, Executive Director of Human Resources and Development at RTA, highlighted the importance of attracting top Emirati engineers. "Attracting elite Emirati engineers underscores RTA’s commitment to realising the vision of our leadership in empowering national talent," she said.

Participants will undergo extensive learning programmes that cover specialised, technical, and practical training. They will receive mentoring, professional guidance, and participate in committees and operational teams. Their progress will be regularly evaluated to assess performance and training benefits.

Athari Mohamed further stated that RTA is dedicated to equipping engineers with a distinguished career pathway. "RTA continues to make concerted efforts to attract engineers with exceptional academic credentials," she mentioned.

Incentives for National Talent

RTA offers a range of incentives to support the attraction, retention, and advancement of national talent. These include career progression opportunities through defined pathways, access to certifications that enhance job market competitiveness, and assignments on technically focused projects.

"RTA is committed to offering a comprehensive range of incentive benefits," Athari added. These incentives are vital for empowering national talent and fostering innovation within RTA’s strategic objectives.

Collaboration with Strategic Partners

The training will take place across RTA’s agencies in an innovation-driven environment. It involves collaboration with strategic partners such as leading international companies and renowned universities. Participants will engage in fieldwork related to major infrastructure projects undertaken by RTA in Dubai.

This initiative not only enhances participants' skills but also provides them with direct exposure to significant transport projects in Dubai. Such experiences are invaluable for developing practical expertise in the field.

The "Promising Engineer – Fast Track" programme represents a significant step towards empowering Emirati engineers. By providing comprehensive training and clear career pathways, it ensures that participants can contribute meaningfully to RTA's objectives while advancing their careers.
