RTA Conducts 4,322 Field Inspections To Ensure Household Gas Distribution Safety In Dubai

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has been actively ensuring public safety by regulating commercial transport activities. In a series of 4,322 field inspections targeting household gas distribution, the RTA identified 1,098 violations. These inspections were part of joint campaigns with the Dubai Regulatory Committee for Petroleum Products Trading, which includes 15 entities across the Emirate.

Saeed Al Ramsi, Director of Licensing Activities Monitoring at RTA’s Licensing Agency, emphasised the importance of overseeing household gas distribution. He stated: "Household gas distribution is a critical activity with direct implications on the environment, public health, and safety. It requires strict oversight to ensure full compliance with licensing requirements and identify counterfeit or untraceable gas cylinders, thereby avoiding serious potential risks."

The inspections revealed significant issues such as counterfeit or unverified gas cylinders and unauthorised transport activities. These violations were recorded throughout 2023 - 2024 and into the first half of 2025. Approximately 170 vehicles that did not comply with regulations were impounded during these operations.

Al Ramsi highlighted that these campaigns align with RTA’s strategic goals of enhancing public safety and environmental sustainability. "These campaigns are part of RTA’s efforts to realise its strategic objectives of enhancing public safety, advancing environmental sustainability, and boosting operational efficiency across the transport sector, ultimately supporting the goal of a safe and happy urban environment for all residents," he said.

The RTA plans to continue rigorous inspections to maintain high standards in service quality for Dubai's residents. Al Ramsi urged businesses involved in gas distribution to comply with laws and use only licensed vehicles. He affirmed that legal actions would be taken against violators to protect public safety.
