RSG Unveils Laheq Island As A Premier Destination For Luxury Living And Experiences
Red Sea Global (RSG) has introduced Laheq Island, its inaugural private residential island in Saudi Arabia, offering a luxurious lifestyle. This marks the first residential venture announced after Phase One of The Red Sea destination was completed. The initial phase welcomed guests in 2023 and saw the opening of five resorts.
Construction is progressing on Shura Island to add 11 more resorts. Additionally, Red Sea International Airport now operates regular domestic and international flights. Laheq Island is set to open in 2028, focusing on residential ownership with top-notch hospitality services.

Located within an archipelago of 92 untouched islands along Saudi Arabia's west coast, Laheq Island is surrounded by one of the largest barrier reefs globally. This reef hosts over 2,000 rare marine species. Spanning 400 hectares (4,000,000 square meters), the island offers diverse recreational facilities for residents and visitors alike.
RSG has committed to planting 50 million mangrove trees and improving their habitats. They also aim to protect and regenerate coral reefs and surrounding marine ecosystems. These efforts align with their sustainability goals for the region.
The Red Sea destination will be the world's largest tourism hub powered entirely by renewable energy upon completion. This includes Laheq Island, ensuring all facilities and resorts operate sustainably. All 16 resorts from Phase One are expected to be fully operational this year.
By 2030, The Red Sea destination will feature 50 resorts with up to 8,000 hotel rooms and over 1,000 residential units across 22 islands and six inland sites. Red Sea International Airport will serve as the main entry point for both residents and tourists.
This ambitious project highlights RSG's commitment to luxury living while prioritising environmental conservation and sustainable development in Saudi Arabia's tourism sector.
