Royal Commission For Makkah Launches Initiatives To Support Hajj Pilgrims
The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites is rolling out support projects for the 1445AH Hajj season, aiming to enhance services for pilgrims and improve their overall experience. The commission has announced its operational plan for Makkah Buses to support transportation during the Hajj season.
The plan includes 400 buses operating across 12 routes, covering over 580 kilometres. These routes feature four main stations and 438 strategically placed bus stops. Additional buses have been designated for areas with high passenger volumes. Route modifications are also part of the plan to integrate with other transportation services and adapt to traffic and passenger flow changes.

An emergency plan has been devised, incorporating preventive measures, response plans, and an alert system to ensure the safety and efficiency of services. To further support the transportation sector, high-capacity sites for Careem taxi stands have been prepared for the Hajj season. Taxi operation contracts have been issued to facilitate smooth transportation for pilgrims.
Light transportation means, such as scooters, have been provided on three dedicated routes to aid movement between the Holy Sites. Additionally, the "Kidana Al-Wadi" project, consisting of 10 residential towers near the Jamarat facility in Mina, has been completed by Kidana Development Company. This project aims to improve services for pilgrims, enhance the urban landscape, and facilitate movement around the site.
Health Services and Safety Measures
Several health service projects have also been undertaken. These include installing cooling pedestrian walkways and flexible rubber floors in the Holy Sites and providing umbrellas to reduce heat-related injuries. Kidney dialysis points have been established in the Holy Sites to provide services to pilgrims and Umrah performers.
Efforts have also been made to govern and enhance the sacrificial animal system. Additionally, mosques in Al-Hil's area have been prepared to enhance the quality of the experience for pilgrims of the Two Holy Mosques.
