ROSHN Group Commits As A Pioneer In Saudi Sustainability Initiatives

ROSHN Group has recently been distinguished as one of the inaugural "Saudi Sustainability Champions," a significant recognition following their commitment at the World Economic Forum. This initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, is designed to expedite the integration of sustainability best practices within the business sector. By selecting leading companies as sustainability champions, the program aims to leverage their influence to support and catalyze sustainability efforts in at least three other companies within their business sphere over a 24-month period.

As a newly appointed champion, ROSHN is set to collaborate with various Saudi-based businesses, offering them insights, resources, and training essential for the swift adoption of sustainability principles and reporting mechanisms. This partnership will include guidance on crafting a comprehensive sustainability strategy alongside focused initiatives, facilitated through capacity-building sessions and consistent progress evaluations.

The Saudi Sustainability Champions program seeks to enhance the Kingdom's economic agility, efficiency, and resilience by broadening the implementation of sustainability practices across different industries and supply chains. "Sustainability is a core value to us, embedded in ROSHN's DNA," remarked Dr. Khalid Johar, ROSHN's acting chief executive. He emphasized the company's commitment to sustainability as not merely a choice but a responsibility, aiming to support other businesses on their sustainability journeys in line with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.

Dr. Johar also expressed gratitude towards the Ministry of Economy and Planning for launching this initiative and for selecting ROSHN as a pioneering member. With its focus on developing human-centric communities, ROSHN integrates sustainability across all operational and developmental aspects. This includes efficient energy and water use, responsible materials and waste management, enhanced transport and connectivity, and fostering community wellbeing.
