ROSHN Group Unveils Kingdom's Largest Smart Living Hackathon At Cityscape Global In Riyadh

ROSHN Group, a company under the Public Investment Fund, has announced Hackathon 24. This event is the largest IT competition in the region focusing on property technology. Scheduled during Cityscape Global in Riyadh from 11th to 14th November, it will gather participants from over twelve countries. Competitors will aim to create innovative solutions for the construction and real estate sectors across four distinct areas.

The hackathon's scope has expanded this year to include green technologies like energy efficiency and smart buildings. It also covers corporate social responsibility and technology entrepreneurship. Participants can register their ideas on Hackathon 24's website. Those selected will have four days at Cityscape Global to present their concepts, which a judging panel will evaluate on the final day.

The top teams will receive prize money of up to SAR300,000 to develop their ideas further. Second-place teams will earn SAR150,000 each, while third-place teams will get SAR50,000 each. The Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones and the Center of Digital Entrepreneurship are supporting Hackathon 24 as SME partners.

PwC is involved as a knowledge partner, with Google and Future Workshops providing technological support. The event is powered by The Garage and Tuwaiq Academy. These partnerships aim to enhance the event's success by offering expertise and resources crucial for participants' innovation journey.

This year's hackathon builds on the success of its first edition in 2023. During that event, 17 teams from 12 countries competed for over one million Saudi Riyals in prize money. The competition aims to foster creativity and innovation within the property technology sector by encouraging diverse participation.

Shortlisted participants will showcase their proof of concepts during Cityscape Global's four-day event in Riyadh.
