Roads Authority And EXPRO Partnership Boosts Road Efficiency And Quality Across Saudi Arabia

The Roads General Authority (RGA) in Saudi Arabia has partnered with the Expenditure and Project Efficiency Authority (EXPRO) to enhance road project efficiency. This collaboration has notably improved spending efficiency, performance-based contracts, and infrastructure quality across the Kingdom. The initiative aligns with RGA's broader mission to elevate the quality of Saudi Arabia's road network.

RGA reported that 62 contracts have transitioned to performance-based models, leading to over 30% savings in road maintenance costs. This shift is part of a broader strategy to improve financial efficiency in the sector. Additionally, the partnership has achieved 70% localization within the road sector, contributing significantly to national goals.

Enhancing Road Efficiency with EXPRO Partnership

The RGA has adopted a comprehensive asset management system based on international best practices. This system automates maintenance operations, increasing both efficiency and precision. These efforts are part of Saudi Arabia's vision to become a global logistics hub by enhancing its road infrastructure.

Looking ahead, RGA plans to continue collaborating with EXPRO on future projects. The aim is to further improve the quality of the road network and achieve ambitious targets such as securing sixth place in the global road quality index by 2030.

In addition to infrastructure improvements, RGA is committed to reducing road fatalities to fewer than five per 100,000 people. Meeting International Road Assessment Program (iRAP) standards for traffic safety is also a priority. These efforts underscore RGA's dedication to enhancing service levels on Saudi roads.

The authority also aims to increase private sector involvement in line with its road sector strategy. This strategy prioritizes safety, quality, and effective traffic management. By adhering to these principles, RGA seeks to ensure a high standard of service across the Kingdom's road network.

Overall, these initiatives reflect RGA's commitment to advancing Saudi Arabia's infrastructure while aligning with national objectives for economic development and safety.
