This bout is set for October 3 at the Coca-Cola Arena and is part of the "Road to Dubai" Champions Series, organised by PFL, Dubai Sports Council, and the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai.

Paul Hughes expressed his readiness for the upcoming fight, highlighting his peak physical and mental condition after an intensive training camp. He aims to secure the title and make a significant impact on the tournament's history. "I’ve put in a tremendous amount of work preparing for this moment, and I feel at my absolute best to win and deliver a performance worthy of my ambitions and the trust of my team and fans," Hughes stated.

In response to Hughes' comments, Usman Nurmagomedov shared his thoughts on the possibility of another encounter. "I don’t think my opponent deserves another shot, but I wouldn’t mind a fourth fight for the belt. We’ll let the action inside the cage decide the outcome," he remarked. This statement reflects his confidence in letting their skills determine who prevails.

Pouya Rahmani, another notable fighter, is making his return after recovering from injury and surgery. He expressed enthusiasm about competing again: "Coming back after an injury is never easy, but I’ve worked hard and prepared thoroughly for this fight, which represents an important turning point in my career."

Eisa Sharif Al Marzouqi from the Dubai Sports Council highlighted that hosting such prestigious events aligns with Dubai's vision of becoming a global hub for major sports competitions. He emphasised that this championship not only boosts competition but also enhances Dubai’s international sports presence while showcasing its organisational prowess.

Al Marzouqi further explained that these events inspire sports fans by allowing them to witness elite MMA fighters up close. They also provide local talent with opportunities to compete against world-class athletes, which is crucial for developing the sport in the region.

The upcoming fight between Nurmagomedov and Hughes promises excitement as both fighters prepare intensely. The event will not only showcase top-tier MMA action but also reinforce Dubai’s status as a key player on the global sports stage.
