Six Flags Qiddiya City Opening Ceremony Attended By Riyadh Region Governor

The official opening of Six Flags Qiddiya City took place on Monday evening, led by Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz. The event marked a major milestone for Qiddiya’s entertainment plans and supported the broader goals of Saudi Vision 2030 for the leisure and tourism sectors.

The park is the first major entertainment facility within Qiddiya City’s planned ecosystem. It offers high-thrill rides, family attractions and immersive zones that use advanced technologies. The design aims to connect modern entertainment with local identity, heritage and the natural landscape around the site.

Riyadh Governor Opens Six Flags Qiddiya City

Officials described Six Flags Qiddiya City as a practical step in turning Qiddiya’s long-term vision into reality. The park is also presented as part of wider national efforts to grow the entertainment industry, attract international visitors and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional and global destination for large entertainment projects.

Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company Abdullah Aldawood addressed the ceremony and thanked Prince Faisal bin Bandar for attending and supporting the project. Aldawood highlighted the governor’s interest in initiatives that support economic and social development in the Riyadh Region through new entertainment, sports and cultural infrastructure.

The opening ceremony drew a number of senior figures from government and sports bodies. Attendees included ministers, leaders from the entertainment and esports sectors, and representatives of key national organisations linked to leisure, tourism and urban development programmes.

The list of attendees featured Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, Prince Fahd bin Mansour bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz and Mayor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, along with other ministers and senior officials.

Aldawood said that launching Six Flags Qiddiya City brings Qiddiya’s ambitions closer to residents and visitors through real projects on the ground. Aldawood stated, "We are building a destination that inspires imagination, ignites excitement, and brings people together through exceptional experiences." The remarks underlined Qiddiya’s role within national diversification plans.

The opening of Six Flags Qiddiya City is presented by Qiddiya Investment Company as an early example of how the broader Qiddiya City will operate. The project is expected to contribute to leisure options in Riyadh Region, support tourism targets and offer new destinations for families, young people and visitors from inside and outside Saudi Arabia.
