The closing events for the 27th King Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran will honour male and female winners in Riyadh. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance organised the local competition from February 13 to 17, with total prize money exceeding SAR7 million.
Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz will represent Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at the male winners’ ceremony. This event is scheduled for Friday at The Ritz-Carlton. The female winners’ ceremony will take place on Thursday evening, the second day of Ramadan, under the patronage of Princess Fahda bint Falah Al Hathleen.

During both the male and female ceremonies, participants who reached the final stages will receive awards. Winners will be crowned for the top three positions in each of the competition’s six categories. These categories cover different levels of Quran memorization and recitation, reflecting varied abilities among contestants from across the Kingdom.
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance and General Supervisor of local and international Quranic competitions Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh stated that the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Award has long enjoyed strong backing. Support from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, along with close attention from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, has helped establish the competition as a leading national Quran memorization event.
Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh also noted that financial and organisational support for the competition has grown steadily. This continued increase has encouraged higher standards among male and female participants. According to Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh, stronger backing motivates contestants to improve performance and rewards outstanding efforts in Quran memorization and recitation.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance oversees the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Award as part of its Quranic competition portfolio.
