Riyadh Region Governor Prince Faisal Bin Bandar Attends Prestigious Founder's Cup And Two Holy Mosques' Cups Event
The King Abdulaziz Racecourse in Al-Janadriyah hosted a significant horse racing event on Saturday evening. Under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and represented by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the event featured prestigious races including the King Abdulaziz Cup and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ cups. These races are crucial for promoting Saudi horse breeding and racing.
Among the highlights was the eighth race where "Kathir," owned by Hamad Mohammed Hamad Al-Merri, emerged victorious. In another thrilling contest, "Yaroa," representing the stables of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz's sons, clinched first place in the ninth race. This race was part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup for local production (Grade 1, local) over 1,800 meters.

The tenth race saw "Rattle 'N' Roll," owned by Sharaf Mohammed Al-Hariri and Lucky Seven Stables, win in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup Grade 3 international category. This race also served as a qualifier for the Saudi Cup, covering a distance of 1,800 meters. The eleventh race featured "Saif Barzan" taking first place in the King Abdulaziz Cup for locally bred Arabian horses over 1,600 meters.
In recognition of their achievements, Riyadh Region Governor Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz presented awards to winners. Prince Mutaib bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received the cup for "Yaroa," while Mutaib Saleh Mohammed was honoured for "Saif Barzan." The twelfth race concluded with "Taj Biladi" winning in the King Abdulaziz (Founder) Cup (Grade 1, local) over 1,600 meters.
The King Abdulaziz Cup is renowned for showcasing top-tier locally bred horses in both purebred Arabian and thoroughbred categories. These events are pivotal in enhancing Saudi Arabia's horse breeding and racing sectors. Additionally, they include qualifiers for major competitions like the Saudi Cup and Prince Khalid bin Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Cup.
These races not only highlight exceptional equine talent but also play a vital role in promoting local horse breeding initiatives. By hosting such prestigious events, Saudi Arabia continues to strengthen its position in international horse racing circuits.
