Riyadh Pavilion Launches At Buenos Aires Book Fair, Showcasing Saudi Culture And Literature

The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission has inaugurated the Riyadh pavilion at the 49th Buenos Aires International Book Fair in Argentina. This event, which takes place from April 22 to May 12, highlights Riyadh as the guest of honour. The commission spearheads Riyadh's involvement, showcasing Saudi Arabia's rich cultural and literary landscape.

Representatives from various Saudi organisations are part of the delegation. These include the Theater and Performing Arts Commission, the Heritage Commission, and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. Additionally, institutions like the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex and the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives are present.

Riyadh Pavilion Opens at Buenos Aires Fair

The Riyadh pavilion aims to enhance Saudi cultural presence in Latin America. It introduces Riyadh as a model of civilization that aligns with Saudi Vision 2030. The pavilion offers a wide range of literary and cultural content, including Spanish translations to foster cultural understanding.

Key figures attended the launch of the Riyadh pavilion. These included Abdullatif Alwasel, chief executive of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission; Jorge Macri, Chief of Government of Buenos Aires; Gabriela Ricardes, Buenos Aires' Minister of Culture; and Christian Rainone, president of Argentina's Fundación El Libro.

The pavilion serves as a platform for visitors from Argentina and beyond to engage with Saudi culture. It aims to attract a diverse audience by offering insights into Saudi traditions and innovations. This initiative is part of a broader effort to build bridges between different cultures through literature.

Institutions such as the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL), King Abdulaziz Public Library, and King Fahad National Library also contribute to this cultural exchange. Their participation underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to promoting its heritage on an international stage.
