Riyadh Music Week To Launch In December 2024, Celebrating Saudi Talent And Global Music Dialogue
The Music Commission, under the Ministry of Culture, is organising Riyadh Music Week for the first time. This event, in collaboration with MDLBeast and the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG), will take place from December 5 to 14, 2024. Various venues in Riyadh will host activities aimed at showcasing the Kingdom's music sector's growth and engaging with international stakeholders on music policy.
Riyadh Music Week will feature the Global Music Makers Summit, a new gathering for leaders and policymakers in the music industry. The week-long event will also celebrate traditional music by activating small venues across Riyadh. These venues will host live performances that highlight the diversity of local Saudi talent.

For the first time in the Middle East, the Music Cities Convention and Awards will be part of Riyadh Music Week. "The Music Cities Convention is one of the largest international conferences focusing on the topics of music cities, music policy, and music tourism. This milestone solidifies Riyadh's position as a key global destination for music and arts," it stated.
The convention aims to position Riyadh as a significant hub for global music and arts discussions. It will explore topics like music cities, policies, and tourism, enhancing Riyadh's reputation as a cultural centre.
Throughout Riyadh Music Week, attendees can participate in various panel sessions, seminars, and workshops. These activities will cover recent developments in the global music scene. The event brings together key moments from Riyadh's music calendar, including XP Music Futures and SoundStorm.
The inaugural Billboard Arabia Music Awards will also be part of this celebration. This platform encourages collaboration between local and international artists while promoting Saudi music and regional talents.
Opportunities for Artists
Riyadh Music Week aims to create opportunities for both established musicians and newcomers. It highlights emerging businesses within the evolving music sector. By hosting this event, the Music Commission demonstrates its commitment to supporting local artists by providing them with a platform to showcase their talents.
This initiative not only celebrates Saudi musical heritage but also fosters dialogue with global stakeholders about future developments in the industry. The week promises to be an exciting blend of tradition and innovation within Saudi Arabia's vibrant cultural landscape.
