Riyadh Municipality Enhances Four Districts To Improve Urban Livability And Infrastructure

The Riyadh Municipality has unveiled plans to enhance central areas in four districts, spanning 14.2 kilometers and covering 376,000 square meters. This initiative aims to boost livability and focus on people-centered urban development. The project is part of broader efforts to improve life quality in the capital's districts while aligning urban infrastructure with residents' needs.

Key districts involved include Al-Rawdah, Al-Rawabi, Al-Suwaidi Al-Gharbi, and Al-Mughrizat. Each district will see improvements tailored to its specific area and length. For instance, Al-Rawdah covers 4.4 km and 121,000 square meters, while Al-Rawabi spans 2.8 km with an area of 52,000 square meters.

Riyadh Enhances Four Districts for Livability

Al-Suwaidi Al-Gharbi and Al-Mughrizat each have a length of 3.5 km but differ in area coverage at 127,000 and 76,000 square meters respectively. These enhancements are designed to transform urban spaces into vibrant environments that support recreational, social, and economic activities within the districts.

The project includes constructing pedestrian pathways totaling 14 km and bicycle lanes exceeding 9 km. Additionally, it involves planting 480,000 trees and shrubs across these areas. Urban plazas will be developed alongside the preparation of 4,000 parking spaces to accommodate increased activity.

This initiative represents a significant step forward in a series of development projects aimed at improving space utilization efficiency. It seeks to connect these areas with key destinations and essential services while enhancing their functional and visual appeal.
