Riyadh Metro Expands Network With Launch Of Red And Green Lines Today

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has introduced two new lines of the Riyadh Metro: the Red Line on King Abdullah Road and the Green Line on King Abdulaziz Road. These lines are now accessible to passengers from 6:00 am to midnight. With this addition, five out of six metro lines are operational.

The Red Line stretches 25.1 kilometers, running east to west along King Abdullah Road. It connects King Fahd Sports City with King Saud University through 15 stations, including the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. This line intersects with the Blue Line at STC Station, the Green Line at Ministry of Education Station, and the Purple Line at Al Hamra Station.

The Green Line covers a distance of 13.3 kilometers along King Abdulaziz Road, starting from King Abdullah Road to the National Museum. It includes 12 stations serving various government entities like the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Commerce, alongside commercial and residential areas. However, stations at the Ministry of Finance and National Museum will open later.

This line intersects with the Red Line at Ministry of Education Station and with the Blue Line at National Museum Station. The remaining Orange Line on Madinah Road is set to open soon, completing the entire metro network.
