Riyadh Witnesses Launch Of Fourth Industrial Revolution Applications Hackathon
The "Fourth Industrial Revolution Applications Hackathon" commenced in Riyadh today. Organised by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology alongside the National Industry Development and Logistics Program, it will run until August 10. Over 400 innovators from various sectors are participating to develop technical solutions aimed at enhancing Fourth Industrial Revolution applications in industry, energy, mining, and logistics services.
The hackathon emphasises adopting Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies innovatively. Participants will learn to apply these technologies and develop new solutions over three days. More than 50 experts will support them through workshops, advisory sessions, and guidance. Teams will form around four main sectors: industry, energy, mining, and logistics.

Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Future Capabilities and Jobs, Ibrahim AlNasser, highlighted the potential of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. He stated that these technologies offer a golden opportunity for significant progress in various fields. AlNasser explained that the hackathon aims to showcase the importance of adopting these technologies innovatively while fostering an environment conducive to learning and idea exchange.
The first day featured interactive workshops designed to prepare participants for creating new solutions using innovative ideas and methods. These workshops provided tools to enhance participants' skills and knowledge, contributing to building a generation reliant on modern technologies. Participants engaged with experts specialising in Fourth Industrial Revolution applications across industry, energy, logistics, and mining.
