Riyadh International Book Fair 2025: A Cultural Exchange Hub For Literature And Innovation

The Riyadh International Book Fair 2025 has begun at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and will continue until October 11. Organised by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, the event hosts over 2,000 publishing houses from more than 25 countries. It serves as a significant platform for cultural exchange, bringing together writers and book lovers from Saudi Arabia and beyond.

Dr. Abdullatif Al-Wasel, CEO of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, highlighted that the fair aligns with Saudi Arabia's strategy to boost its cultural leadership regionally and globally. He stressed the role of culture in enhancing community awareness and economic growth, in line with Vision 2030. The event is open daily from 11:00 AM to midnight, except on Fridays when it opens at 2:00 PM.

Uzbekistan has been chosen as the guest of honour for this year's fair due to its significant cultural contributions and strong ties with Saudi Arabia. The Uzbek pavilion showcases manuscripts and a rich cultural program featuring Uzbek artists. This participation underscores the event's role in promoting cultural exchange and intellectual collaboration between nations.

The fair includes a variety of activities such as seminars, lectures, poetry evenings, and workshops led by renowned writers and thinkers. These events aim to engage visitors in meaningful discussions about literature and culture. Additionally, the Theater and Performing Arts Commission is involved, offering performances in collaboration with Uzbek artists.

An expanded business zone has been introduced at the fair to support the publishing industry. This area is designed to foster partnerships among leading entities in publishing. It aims to empower publishers by providing opportunities for networking and collaboration with other industry leaders.
