Riyadh To Host Inaugural Saudi Rail Conference And Exhibition On November 20-21, 2024
The Saudi Rail Conference and Exhibition will debut in Riyadh on November 20-21, 2024. This event is under the patronage of Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and Chairman of Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR). It will be held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, focusing on railway sector advancements from both local and international viewpoints.
Al-Jasser highlighted that this event aligns with the Kingdom's transformative developments in transportation and logistics, especially in railways. He acknowledged the significant support from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Railways are crucial for economic growth, facilitating trade, tourism, and reducing emissions by cutting down daily car and truck trips.

SAR CEO Dr. Bashar AlMalik stated that hosting this conference strengthens Saudi Arabia's position as a global transport hub. The event is among the largest in the Middle East and North Africa region, attracting numerous industry experts. Over 200 speakers will discuss innovations in the railway sector, while more than 200 exhibitors will provide networking opportunities for key stakeholders.
The conference supports SAR's goals under Saudi Vision 2030 to attract advanced railway technologies. This effort aims to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub through collaboration with domestic and international partners. The event also emphasizes SAR's commitment to enhancing railway infrastructure and user services.
SAR's network has grown to include three intercity lines: North Railway, East Railway, and Haramain High-Speed Railway, inaugurated by King Salman in 2018. Urban lines like the Mashaer Train for pilgrims, Riyadh Metro, King Abdulaziz International Airport Railway in Jeddah, and Princess Noura University Railway are also part of this network.
In total, the railway system spans over 5,500 kilometers. This extensive network reflects Saudi Arabia's dedication to creating a comprehensive transportation system that connects various regions effectively.
The conference will feature panel discussions on innovative solutions in railways. It provides an essential platform for exchanging knowledge among industry leaders. The event aligns with national strategies to enhance transport efficiency and solidify Saudi Arabia's role as a leading logistics hub globally.
