Riyadh Governor To Attend King Faisal Prize Ceremony On Behalf Of King Salman
Riyadh, SPA – In a prestigious event set to take place next Monday in Riyadh, under the high patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and represented by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh Region, distinguished individuals and organizations will be honored at the 46th King Faisal Prize ceremony. This significant occasion marks the continued tradition of recognizing exceptional contributions across various fields.
The King Faisal Prize, a beacon of excellence since its inception in 1979, has celebrated the achievements of over 295 scientists from 45 countries. Many laureates have gone on to receive other prestigious international accolades, underscoring the global impact and recognition of this award.

This year's ceremony will see awards presented in multiple categories. The Service to Islam Prize will be jointly received by the Japan Muslim Association and Dr. Mohammad Al-Sammak from Lebanon for their outstanding contributions. In the field of Islamic Studies, Dr. Wael Hallaq, a US national, has been recognized for his significant scholarly work. However, it was announced that the Arabic Language and Literature Prize would not be awarded this year.
In the realms of science and medicine, two US nationals have been honored for their pioneering research. Dr. Jerry Roy Mendell has been awarded the Medicine Prize for his groundbreaking work, while Dr. Howard Yuan-Hao Chang receives the Science Prize for his contributions to the field.
