Riyadh Region Governor Honors Winners Of King Salman Quran Memorization Award

Riyadh witnessed a significant event under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, as the 25th session of the local competition for the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for Quran Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation concluded. The ceremony, held on Wednesday, was graced by the presence of Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh region, who honored the winners.

Upon his arrival, Prince Faisal was warmly welcomed by notable figures including Prince Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed Al-Saud, Governor of Najran region; Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance; Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossary, Minister of Media; and Musfer bin Hassan Al-Essa, general director of the religious affairs administration of the Saudi Armed Forces.

In his address, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh extended his congratulations to the more than 3,000 participants who took part in this prestigious competition. He gave special mention to the 125 contestants who made it to the final stages and lauded the winners for their outstanding achievements in various branches of the competition. Dr. Al Al-Sheikh also expressed his gratitude towards King Salman and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their continuous support and encouragement in promoting Quranic studies.

The ceremony underscored the importance placed on memorizing, reciting, and interpreting the Holy Quran within the Kingdom. Dr. Al Al-Sheikh highlighted that such competitions are highly regarded by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and play a crucial role in encouraging both boys and girls across Saudi Arabia to engage deeply with their faith.

Attendees were treated to a series of Quranic recitations by participants, which were followed by a visual presentation that provided insights and statistics about this year's competition. The event not only celebrated the achievements of the contestants but also reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to fostering religious education and understanding among its youth.
