Riyadh Governor Honours Founder's Cup On Behalf Of Crown Prince
Under the esteemed patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, a significant event in the Saudi Arabian equestrian calendar, the annual horse racing ceremony for the Founder's Cup, was held. This prestigious event, dedicated to the memory of late King Abdulaziz bin Abdurrahman, showcases Purebred Arabian Horses and Purebred Thoroughbred Horses. His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was represented by the Governor of Riyadh region, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, at the ceremony organized by the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia at King Abdulaziz Racetrack in Al-Janadriyah, Riyadh.
Upon his arrival, Prince Faisal was warmly welcomed by notable figures including Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; Prince Bandar bin Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Saudi Equestrian Authority and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jockey Club; Prince Abdullah bin Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Abdurrahman, President of the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation and Member of the Board of Directors of the Jockey Club and the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee; along with other distinguished guests.

The event commenced with the playing of the Saudi royal anthem, setting a solemn tone for the day's races. The highlight of the ceremony was the eleventh race dedicated to the "Founder's Cup" for local purebred Arabian horses aged four years. This race not only honors the legacy of King Abdulaziz but also promotes the breeding and racing of Arabian horses within the kingdom. The competitors vied for a grand prize of SAR 5 million over a distance of 1,600 meters, showcasing their speed and agility.
