Riyadh Transforms Into A Global Tourism Hub Under Vision 2030 With Major Seasonal Events
Riyadh is undergoing a lively transformation this autumn, drawing visitors from within Saudi Arabia and globally. The city is becoming a hub of tourism and entertainment, showcasing its blend of tradition and modernity. This surge in activity highlights Riyadh's role as a global destination, reflecting the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals.
The pleasant climate in Riyadh offers an ideal backdrop for diverse cultural, artistic, and sporting events. These activities embody the spirit of a revitalized capital, symbolizing modern progress in the region. The city's advanced infrastructure and high-quality services make it a standout on the global tourism map.

Vision 2030 has been instrumental in positioning Riyadh as a leading urban center. It aims to build world-class cities that excel in tourism and entertainment. Last year, over 19 million visitors were drawn to the capital, attracted by its diverse entertainment options and exceptional organization.
The city hosts numerous events across public parks, cultural areas, entertainment centers, and major exhibitions. These activities align with global best practices in destination management. This momentum supports national efforts to enhance tourism under Vision 2030 through infrastructure development and expanded e-visa access.
Khalid Albaker, CEO of the Quality of Life Program Center, highlighted the success of Saudi Arabia's entertainment seasons like Riyadh and Jeddah. These seasons are key indicators of development in culture, sports, and tourism. In 2024 alone, over 115 million visitors were hosted nationwide.
The program also launched investment accelerators and incubated 28 startup projects. It expanded entertainment destinations to 584 locations, surpassing targets by 169%. This growth reflects the Kingdom’s ambition to diversify income sources and achieve sustainable development.
Diriyah Season Highlights
Ahlam Al-Thunayan, Diriyah Season Director, noted that Diriyah becomes an ideal destination with winter's arrival. This year's season spans over 120 days with more than 10 main programs celebrating Diriyah’s history and heritage. Events are held in historic neighborhoods like At-Turaif and Al-Bujairi.
These unique experiences reflect the cultural values of Diriyah while attracting visitors eager to explore its rich history. The season enhances Riyadh’s appeal as a capital of major events with theatrical, musical, and sporting activities.
Saudi Winter Program Launch
Abdullah Al-Dakhil from the Saudi Tourism Authority announced the launch of the Saudi Winter 2025 program. Running until early 2026, it features events across various destinations including Riyadh, Diriyah, Jeddah, AlUla, The Red Sea, and Eastern Region.
The National Center for Meteorology spokesperson Hussein Al-Qahtani confirmed moderate weather will persist across most regions. This climate is ideal for outdoor tourism and recreational activities during this period.
Efforts from both public and private sectors focus on developing sustainable tourism experiences while attracting quality investments. This dynamism revitalizes economic activity by creating jobs and boosting creative industries.
