Riyadh Positions Itself As A Global Hub For AI Leaders And Innovators Aligned With Vision 2030

Saudi Arabia is advancing its position in data and artificial intelligence (AI) through strategic regulation and development. The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), established six years ago, plays a crucial role in this progress. It aims to make the Kingdom a global hub for advanced technology decision-making, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The SDAIA leads national efforts in data and AI, focusing on governance, innovation, and expertise development. Under the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of SDAIA's Board of Directors, the authority is propelling initiatives that boost Saudi Arabia's global competitiveness in these fields.

The Global AI Summits held in 2020, 2022, and 2024 have been pivotal in reinforcing Saudi Arabia's leadership in AI. These events attracted thousands of participants and facilitated significant agreements. The first summit in 2020 featured over 30 sessions, setting the stage for international AI discussions.

The second summit in 2022 brought together more than 200 speakers and 10,000 participants. It led to the establishment of the International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics in Riyadh. The third summit in 2024 drew 30,000 attendees and launched key initiatives like the International AI Olympiad and the Arabic Large Language Model "ALLaM."

Major partnerships with international bodies such as the United Nations and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development were formed during these summits. These collaborations further cemented Saudi Arabia's leadership role in AI on a global scale.

Currently, anticipation is building for the fourth edition of the Global AI Summit. This event is set to be a significant platform for strategic discussions on artificial intelligence worldwide. It comes at a time when AI technologies are being actively debated by governments, institutions, tech companies, and individuals globally.

The upcoming summit will take place at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center. Decision-makers will gather to share insights on future prospects of key sectors related to artificial intelligence.
