Riyadh Art Unveils Davide Rivalta Sculptures To Enhance Urban Landscape At Al-Nafal Park
The installation of sculptures by Italian artist Davide Rivalta at Al-Nafal Park in Riyadh's Diplomatic Quarter has been completed. This project, a collaboration between Riyadh Art and the Italian embassy in Saudi Arabia, aims to enhance public art and enrich the urban landscape. The sculptures reflect the relationship between humanity and nature, blending seamlessly with the park's environment.
Rivalta's sculptures, themed "Echoes of Land," include a cheetah, lion, lioness, and buffalo. These artworks interact with the desert landscape and the park's oasis-like serenity. They evoke historical connections between these animals and their natural habitats. The silent presence of these sculptures invites contemplation on environmental conservation and endangered species preservation.

The installation at Al-Nafal Park embodies a cultural dialogue where artistic creativity meets natural heritage. It fosters cultural exchange and interaction between art and the environment. This immersive experience brings wildlife elements into an urban setting, symbolizing the ongoing relationship between humans and nature.
Omar AlBraik, Senior Director of Public Art at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), stated: "This collaboration with Davide Rivalta has been a deeply enriching artistic endeavor that aligns with Riyadh Art's vision of engaging the public through impactful and meaningful artwork." He emphasized that art is not just aesthetic but reshapes public spaces and strengthens connections between individuals and their surroundings.
By hosting Rivalta's works in Riyadh, the city continues to expand its artistic landscape. This initiative opens new avenues for creativity, ensuring diverse artistic visions reach all community segments. The collaboration represents a step toward achieving Riyadh Art's objectives of establishing Riyadh as a vibrant open-air gallery.
Since its launch in 2019, Riyadh Art has introduced over 550 public works by engaging 500 local and international artists. It has hosted 6,500 community engagement activities, attracting millions of visitors. The program aims to expand its collection to over 1,000 works of art, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 to solidify the city's cultural identity.
The sculptures serve as reminders of the delicate balance between urban development and nature. Inspired by natural symbols like the cheetah—once part of the Arabian Peninsula's ecosystem—the artworks highlight this balance. They emphasize environmental conservation while enhancing visual experiences for residents and visitors alike.
