Riyadh Air Expands Network With Riyadh Cairo Daily Flights

Riyadh Air confirms that Cairo will be one of the first cities in its new network, with daily flights from Riyadh planned on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The route is described as central to linking Saudi Arabia with major international hubs.

The airline notes that demand between the two capitals is already high. Flights on the Riyadh–Cairo corridor carried 2.7 million passengers last year, placing the route among the busiest in the world and highlighting the scale of existing travel flows.

The Egyptian capital is identified as a priority destination because of this strong traffic and broad traveller mix. Riyadh Air highlights that the route will support pilgrims heading to the Kingdom, tourists visiting both countries, and business travellers moving between two major regional centres.

CEO of Riyadh Air Tony Douglas stated, "The launch of our commercial service to Cairo marks a true beginning of our journey to connect Riyadh to the world, and the world to Riyadh. This route has been carefully selected to serve a key market that aligns with our ambition to become a global destination and a significant contributor to Vision 2030."

The airline links the Cairo route to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals, citing support for economic diversification and tourism. Riyadh Air says its developing network is designed to make travel smoother while backing national plans to strengthen aviation, trade, and visitor numbers.

Riyadh Air explains that commercial operations to London, Dubai, and Cairo are planned soon after its first aircraft arrives in the coming weeks. This follows the carrier’s "Pathway to Perfect" operational readiness phase, which prepares teams, systems, and services for launch.

The company states that network growth will continue over the next few years. Riyadh Air aims to serve more than 100 destinations by 2030, with Cairo presented as an early example of routes selected to match demand and long-term strategic aims for the Kingdom.
