Richard Mille Team Secures Victory At The 2025 Desert Polo Championship In AlUla

The Richard Mille Polo Team emerged victorious in the 2025 Desert Polo Championship, defeating the Ikmah Team 8–6. The final match took place at Al-Fursan Village in AlUla. Chairman of the Saudi Polo Federation Amr Zedan and Acting CEO of the Royal Commission for AlUla Abeer AlAkel presented the trophy to the winners. The event was attended by Piero Delier, President of the International Polo Federation.

Argentinian star Pablo Mac Donough led the Richard Mille team, with Clare Mountbatten, Marchioness of Milford Haven, and Mohammed Al-Suwaidi also participating. The Ikmah Team featured notable players like Nacho Figueras, HRH Prince Hamza bin Abbas, and Blouy Bingxing. The final was intensely competitive, with both teams tied until Richard Mille scored two crucial goals to clinch victory.

Richard Mille Team Wins Desert Polo Championship

The championship spanned two days and included six teams competing fiercely. In other matches, Dadan Team defeated Budget Team 7–6 in a playoff for last place. Meanwhile, Bentley Team triumphed over AlUla Team 6–5 in the subsidiary cup final. These matches showcased high-level polo skills and strategic play.

Prince Hamza bin Abbas received recognition as Best Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performance. Clare Mountbatten was honoured as Best Female Player, while Nacho Figueras emerged as the tournament's top scorer. The horse Obsolete earned accolades as Best Horse of the Tournament for its exceptional performance on the field.

Chairman Zedan expressed his congratulations to Richard Mille team for their win. He reiterated that the Saudi Polo Federation is dedicated to continuing this tournament with support from the Royal Commission for AlUla. He acknowledged the Kingdom’s leadership and contributions from various sports bodies that have enabled Saudi Arabia to host international sporting events.
