Responsible AI Study Highlights Future Service Innovations In UAE Across Sectors
The UAE's Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office has released a study titled "Towards a Future of Responsible AI." This research highlights the crucial role of responsible artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping the future. It calls for innovation in services across government and private sectors, focusing on technologies that benefit humanity. The study stresses creating frameworks that use advanced solutions to drive societal progress and ensure global community prosperity.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, highlighted the importance of scientific research in promoting sustainable development within government systems. He noted that the UAE uses research to guide digital transformation, aligning with leadership's vision to position the UAE among global leaders in future fields.

The study reflects insights from a roundtable organised by the office. Participants included Omar Sultan Al Olama; Dr. Amr Talaat from Egypt; Mauricio Lizcano from Colombia; Faisal Al-Bannai, Advisor to the UAE President; Kathy Vidal from the U.S.; and Majed AlMasmar from the UAE. These discussions focused on rapid technological advancements integrating AI across sectors.
Al Olama mentioned that the UAE is committed to sustainable development through AI and digital technology solutions. This approach enhances government readiness to address fast-paced global changes in digital fields. He stressed expanding scientific research to develop optimal digital practices.
The study discusses responsible AI governance, emphasising designing systems that encourage ethical AI practices in both public and private sectors. It highlights establishing an ethical AI charter to enhance transparency and fairness while addressing challenges like accessibility and bias.
The research underscores combating negative technology use and bridging gaps between society and policymakers. It advocates for collaboration between government and private sectors to create responsible AI policies and frameworks.
Cybersecurity and Future Strategies

The roundtable discussions also involved Faisal Al-Bannai, who serves as an advisor for strategic research and advanced technology affairs. His insights contributed significantly to understanding how AI can be responsibly integrated into various sectors.
