Recent studies conducted at the Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve indicate a notable rise in vegetation, showcasing the revival of crucial tree species like talh, arta, and sidr. These trees are vital to the desert ecosystem and possess significant historical and ecological importance for the region.

The talh tree, known scientifically as Vachellia seyal, is a prominent species in northern Saudi Arabia. It naturally flourishes in deserts and valleys, providing essential grazing resources and shade for wildlife. This tree is not only an ecological treasure but also a symbol of resilience against harsh climates.

Talh trees serve as crucial habitats for endangered species and are a primary food source for herbivores like gazelles and Arabian oryx. They offer both nourishment and shelter to these animals. Additionally, the flowers of the talh tree support bees, resulting in some of the finest honey produced in Saudi Arabia.

The sidr tree, or Ziziphus spina-christi, is a perennial evergreen valued for its sweet fruit and numerous benefits.
