Registration Opens For Saudi Falcons Club Cup And King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2025 To Promote Cultural Heritage
Registration is now open for the Saudi Falcons Club Cup and the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2025. These events aim to empower falconers, preserve the Kingdom’s falconry heritage, and increase public awareness of this cultural tradition. The Saudi Falcons Club, located in Malham, north of Riyadh, is overseeing the registration process.
The first registration phase targets amateur, owner, professional, and elite local categories. It will occur in three stages: from November 3–7, 2025, at the club’s headquarters from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; at Dhahran Expo in Eastern Region from November 19–21 between 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., which is the last chance for amateurs and owners; and finally from December 18–21 at Malham headquarters from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., focusing on professionals and elite locals.

Participants or their representatives must provide detailed information about each falcon. This includes species details, photographs, an original production ring, and the club’s electronic ring number. If these are unavailable, a certificate of ownership from the National Center of Wildlife (NCW) is necessary. Additionally, a CITES certificate in the owner's name is required for local participants or a CITES certificate or falcon passport for international participants.
Health Certification Requirements
A valid health certificate confirming that the falcon is free from avian influenza must be submitted. This document should be issued by an authorized veterinary center no more than 48 hours before the competition begins. Any discrepancies between actual falcon details and those on the registration form will lead to disqualification.
These events not only celebrate falconry but also aim to ensure its preservation as a significant part of Saudi Arabia's cultural heritage. By involving various categories of participants, they foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of this ancient tradition among both locals and visitors alike.
