Red Sea Labs Launches Registration For Seventh Edition Of Feature Films Program Supporting Emerging Filmmakers
Red Sea Labs, part of the Red Sea Film Foundation, is now accepting applications for its seventh Feature Films Program. This initiative aims to nurture emerging filmmakers by enhancing their skills and helping them realise their cinematic visions. Applications are open until September 15. The program, previously called "The Lodge," is a prominent platform supporting talent from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Asia, and Africa.
The program offers an intensive residency focused on script development and technical skills. It also expands production opportunities with guidance from international experts in various fields such as directing, screenwriting, cinematography, editing, sound, post-production, and distribution. Participants gain valuable insights and experience through this comprehensive training.

Participants engage in six immersive workshops. The first workshop is exclusively for Saudi participants. The following five sessions are international, bringing together filmmakers from diverse backgrounds to collaborate. This environment fosters creativity and exchange of ideas among participants.
A specialised track for producers focuses on technical and strategic aspects of production. It also helps participants build a global professional network. This networking opportunity strengthens their presence in international film markets and enhances their career prospects.
The program concludes with the presentation of selected projects at the Red Sea Souk. This event coincides with the sixth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival in 2026. Awards will be given to outstanding projects in front of distributors, financiers, and producers.
This initiative by Red Sea Labs aims to elevate Saudi and regional cinema on the global stage. It empowers creators to tell their stories using innovative artistic approaches that enrich the cinematic landscape.
