Red Sea Labs Unveils Selected Teams For SeriesLab Program 2025 Fostering Television Storytelling

Red Sea Labs, a program under the Red Sea Film Foundation, has unveiled the teams chosen for the third SeriesLab edition. This initiative is in collaboration with "Film Independent," a nonprofit arts organisation. The partnership aims to nurture creative freedom in TV storytelling through an educational framework. The SeriesLab program focuses on developing the skills of 16 emerging TV writers and content creators.

The SeriesLab offers a mix of virtual and in-person residencies, creating a supportive environment for scriptwriting. Participants receive guidance from professional TV writers, showrunners, and industry experts. By the program's end, they aim to complete and pitch their TV series pilot successfully. The selected teams include Team Malpractice from Egypt and Team Mad Bounty and the Midnight Gun from Uganda.

These teams will benefit from an exclusive two-week trip to Los Angeles as part of their training.

During this trip, participants will engage in intensive workshops and attend the Film Independent Forum. This event is designed to empower filmmakers by providing them with essential tools and industry connections to bring their projects to fruition. The SeriesLab program is set to start in April 2025.

The program will conclude in December 2025, aligning with the fifth Red Sea International Film Festival. At this festival, selected projects will have the chance to pitch their series at the Red Sea Souk. This opportunity allows creators to showcase their work to potential investors and industry leaders.

The Red Sea Film Foundation's initiative supports emerging talents by offering them a platform to develop their skills and network within the industry. Through this comprehensive training program, participants are equipped with knowledge and experience crucial for success in television storytelling.
