Red Sea Global Forms Historic Partnership With T1 Esports Team To Enhance Brand Presence
Red Sea Global (RSG) has entered into a three-year strategic partnership with the esports and entertainment organisation T1. This collaboration was announced during the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, which runs from July 7 to August 24. The agreement, facilitated by CAA Sports, marks a pioneering collaboration between a luxury destination developer and an esports entity.
T1 is a renowned esports team from South Korea, known for its success in various competitions. The team has achieved significant victories, including winning the League of Legends championship at the first Esports World Cup in 2024. Led by Lee Sang-hyeok, who has five world titles to his name, T1 also competes in games like VALORANT, TEKKEN 8, EAFC Online, and Overwatch 2.

Raed Albasseet, Head of Environment and Sustainability at RSG, remarked on the growing popularity of esports among young people worldwide, including in Saudi Arabia. "Esports is experiencing rapid growth and immense popularity among youth worldwide, including in Saudi Arabia. Through this partnership, we aim to reach new audience segments and strengthen our brand's association with values of innovation, excellence, and exceeding expectations — values that T1 embodies perfectly," he stated.
The partnership will see RSG's logo featured on T1's official uniforms. Additionally, RSG will sponsor T1's video content on its YouTube channel during major international events. This channel has over 1.56 million subscribers. The move aligns with Saudi Arabia's efforts to establish itself as a global centre for sports and entertainment.
Josh Ahn, Chief Operating Officer at T1 Entertainment & Sports, highlighted the shared goals of both organisations: "Just as T1 strives to lead the esports industry, Red Sea Global seeks to redefine standards of luxury and sustainability in tourism. This partnership unites two visions that share a commitment to mastery and excellence. Together, we look forward to delivering unique experiences that inspire our audiences around the world."
The global esports audience is projected to reach approximately 640.8 million viewers this year. This includes 318.1 million regular followers and 322.7 million occasional viewers. These figures underscore the growing influence of esports globally.
Expanding Tourism Ventures
The Red Sea destination began welcoming visitors at the start of 2023. It currently features five luxury resorts and Red Sea International Airport (RSI), which is within three hours' flight for 250 million people and eight hours for 85% of the world's population.
Amaala is set to welcome its first guests this year with plans to become a leading health and wellness destination. It will offer 1,470 hotel rooms across eight luxury resorts managed by top wellness operators globally.
In addition to these developments, Thuwal Private Retreat was inaugurated in 2024 as part of RSG's commitment to sustainable tourism development.
